Linen cloth bread cloths, or "couche de boulanger", as the French call them, are used to support the rising of bread dough. When the dough is ready for the final rising, a rising basket is taken, and a linen cloth is placed in it. Flour the cloth, preferably with rice flour, as this does not bind gluten and makes the dough stick less to the basket. Place the dough in the basket, cover it with another linen cloth and leave it to rise. Linen is a unique material for bread-making because it allows the dough to breathe and wicks away moisture. We have chosen 100% natural and unbleached flax from Lithuania, where flax has a special place in the folklore tradition. Our linen fabrics are also certified for materials made without harmful substances STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®.

CARE: Turn the baguette bag over every now and then shake it to remove excess flour and crumbs. Use it only to store bread. If you don't run out of bread at home too quickly, a linen bread storage bag is best. Linen allows your loaf to breathe in the bag, so the crispy crust is preserved, and the bread retains its freshness longer than if it were stored in a plastic bag that softens the crust and does not wick away moisture. For breakfast, just roll the sides of a linen bag and put freshly baked warm bread in; it will retain heat longer than if we put it in an ordinary dishtowel. The bag is made of 100% natural and quality linen fabric, which originates from Lithuania, a country where flax is deeply rooted in folklore tradition. The bowl is handmade in Slovenia on a spindle from natural-coloured chamotte clay and is surrounded by a matt white glaze on the inside. It is designed to store flour, cereals, or other foods that need to be stored in a dark place. The container is double-fired, resistant to crumbling and therefore everlasting. It is suitable for storing a good kilo of flour, and there are three different container shapes, all dishwasher safe. The container is not airtight and is not glazed on the outside, as flour needs air to make better bread, even when stored, to keep it fresh. Each bowl has a different texture from the spindle and is unique.
