The cloth is used only for rising the bread and should not be washed, as, over time, a layer of flour builds on the cloth, which further prevents the dough from sticking to the cloth and also helps it to rise better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">If the cloth gets dirty, it can be washed by hand with mild soapy water or in the washing machine on the hand-wash programme at 40\u00b0C on low.
